Super Fast Broadband to Develop Cornwall Economy

In order to help in improving the economy of Cornwall, attempts are being made to provide the fastest broadband to the large business establishments in the county (click for business broadband info). These businesses will soon be able to use broadband at the speed of 1Gb. This speed will ensure that Cornwall becomes an important place for business and will attract more companies to open up businesses in the area.

The Cornwall Development Company also considers it a very important move as it will ensure better economic growth for the area.

The broadband project will cost £100 million and is due to start in 2010. The project is to be supervised by Cornwall Council with the help of South West Regional Development Agency (SWRDA) and southwestbusiness.co.uk.

The bidding for the project is scheduled to be over by the end of 2009. The Council will choose a company that will then develop the network in the area. According to Kevin Lavery, the head of Cornwall Council, the new network will be the best in the whole of the UK.

Everyone is hopeful that the project will make the county prosper and will provide sustainable economic benefits for the locals. As a result, it has become a high priority project for the local administration.
